PDA's Second Year of Cyber Essentials Plus

Cyber Essentials is an effective, Government backed scheme that will help you to protect your organisation, whatever its size, against a whole range of the most common cyber attacks.”

For our second year, PDA have been externally assessed and been technically verified as meeting the requirements of the Cyber Essentials Plus certification.  PDA operate a number of IT systems which underpins the reliable service we deliver to our customers.  Any interference or failure of these IT systems through cyber attacks would disrupt our service while also distracting the team from providing our normal operational service.  In early 2022 we were encouraged by the Government’s National Cyber Security Centre to demonstrate compliance with the best practice established by Cyber Essentials.  Our IT contractor has again worked with an external independent assessor to demonstrate that our IT systems are maintained in line with industry best practice and that we have security controls in place to minimise the impact of a cyber attack.  The  controls were already in place, but there were a few tweaks required to fully meet the slightly amended requirements, as there always are when an organisation is subjected to a comprehensive focused audit.

Tom Chevalier, Managing Director says; “While it is impossible to prevent every cyber attack it is incumbent on us to manage our business to minimise the risks of business interruption as much as possible.  Achieving the government backed Cyber Essentials Plus standard demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with a high quality and resilient service.”

Note – the Cyber Essentials website has a company search feature to check other service providers are compliant.
